Our Fun Weekend

We had an enjoyable weekend. Weston and Kirstie came down on Friday night and stayed until Sunday afternoon. The weekend was full of shopping, Cabelas (for the guys), eating, and games. Also, an hour and a half fiasco replacing my fuel filter. Thanks Wes.
On Saturday Kirstie and I cooked a nice meal for Valentine's Day. We made Chicken Cordon Bleu and Chocolate dipped strawberry cheesecake. It turned out really nice.
We really enjoyed having them visit for the weekend. We are so blessed that we live in a home that is big enough for guests.

More of the same

The last few weeks have just been more of the same, work and school. However, we did have a fun weekend. I received some free movie tickets for attending a math training, so Brian and I went to Avatar on Friday night. We really enjoyed the movie and all of the special 3-D effects. We kept really busy on Saturday. We spent the morning cleaning the house, and the afternoon "shopping." We were trying to find Brian some clothes on Clearance, but were unsuccessful.
Last night we had some friends over for dinner and games. They introduced us to some new games, "Ticket to Ride" and "Kill Doctor Lucky." We had a fun time.
Now we are just preparing ourselves for another week; and for next weekend when Wes and Kirstie will hopefully be coming!

Holiday Break

The last couple weeks have been great. We both had work and school off for the entire 2 weeks which was very nice. We went to Idaho to stay with and visit my family. We had a lot of time to relax. After the first week our bodies even let sleep in past 7:00am! We had a family Christmas Party with my extended family one night. We did a white elephant gift exchange, and played pictionary. It was a lot of fun.

I was even able to make peppermint eggnog, after looking in 4 stores for the peppermint eggnog. Our visit also included a trip to Lava Hot Springs to sit in the natural hot tubs. It felt really good because it was so cold outside.
Christmas was nice, with my whole family there. I finally got my sewing machine! I've been wanting one for years. Along with a nice sewing box to go with it. Brian got a nice tool bag full of tools. To quote him, "I'm slowly becoming a man." Christmas came and went so quickly. Before we knew it, it was over.

We spent the rest of the break packing up Christmas stuff, playing Nerts, and watching movies. We returned home on Friday so we could have the weekend to get settled before returning to school and work on Monday.
Since returning home, I've been putting my Christmas present to use. I made curtains for our laundry room window. I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out.

It was a great break, but now it's time to get back to work. Brian will be starting a semester full of tough Science classes, and an evening EMT class. And I will be trying to get my students ready for end of level testing. So I'm sure we have a busy semester ahead of us.
