The big move
The highlight of this week was that we were able to move into our new house yesterday. That means we spent a week packing our apartment into 26 big banana boxes. We rented a u-haul and were able to get most of our stuff into it. We went back later to pack up our cars with the random items we had left. We worked on packing/unpacking all day. We still have some work to do, mostly unpacking my books, but the kitchen and bathroom are mostly finished, along with the living room. It is so great having so much room to spread out and put things. We definitely aren't short on storage space.

Bear Lake

This week was fairly typical. We both got up early to go to work. Our bodies have adjusted pretty well to the new schedule. We both looked forward to Friday when we left for Bear Lake for a family reunion. Saturday was my birthday and we spent it out on the lake. Brian wakeboarded and went out on the gyro tube (see the pictures). Since I'm not one for deep water I watched from the boat. It was fun. The weather was perfect. That night we had a great dinner of steak and homemade breaded shrimp. It was delicious. It was fun seeing family and spending time with them, playing games, and relaxing. Overall it was a pretty good birthday. And to top it all off, we found out that we will be able to move in to our new house on Saturday! I'm so excited. It'll be a busy few weeks getting packed and unpacked, but it will all be worth it in the end.

New 'dos

After much frustration on both of our parts regarding the length and style of our hair, we both decided to get haircuts yesterday. We went to the Paul Mitchell hair school to save money. I had had a lot of success with the one in Rexburg so I figured this one would be pretty good as well. It took 2 hours, which wasn't so cool, but I'm pretty pleased with the finished products. Mine doesn't look much different from the front, but the back is way shorter, which I like. It makes it easier to style.
On Labor day we went out for a drive. We meant to go to a lake, but after getting there we found out that you have to pay about $10 to get in. Since all we were going to do was walk around anyway, we decided to scrap that idea. We were going in the direction of Park City so I thought it would be fun to go to the outlet mall there. After 3 wrong exits and u-turns, we finally made it. It was nice to walk around the stores, except that it was way too crowded. Unfortunately we didn't find any amazing deals so we made no purchases.
After Monday this week has been uneventful. We are both in school during the day. I've decided I need to start going to bed early, when Brian does so I can go in to school an hour earlier. That way I can get stuff done while I am still fresh. I'm never really in the mood to stay after school to work, plus I know Brian is home so I want to get home as soon as possible. Hopefully this will help me be more prepared and productive.

Gainfully employed
This week Brian's quest for a job ended when he was finally able to beat the mob of students looking for a job. He took an early morning janitorial position. It's from 5:00-8:30am. It's super early, but on the bright side I will be able to see him evenings.
Teaching is still going well. On Thursday every class in our school got 3 new mac computers. They are very nice, but unfortunately we had to give up all of our old computers so I no longer have enough to do centers at the computers. I also started my ESL endorsement class on Wednesday. Every Wednesday this year I will have this class after school. At least I'll be going with some other teachers from my school so we can stick it out together.
I finally got around to taking a few pictures of my classroom. It's still a work in progress, but it's more decorated than my room last year.
